Arbor Day Foundation Names Clifton Park a 2023 Tree City USA

The Town of Clifton Park was named a 2023 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor its commitment to effective urban forest management.

The Town of Clifton Park achieved Tree City USA recognition by meeting the program's four requirements: maintaining a tree board or department, having a tree are ordinance, dedicating an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and hosting an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

This year, the Town of Clifton Park Tree Committee, in conjunction with the Buildings and Grounds department, planted 43 new trees, pruned and maintained 26 trees, and removed at least 90 trees that were damaged or had fallen from town parks.

This is the third consecutive year that Clifton Park has been awarded the Tree City USA distinction.

The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.
