Security Force
The Town of Clifton Park is committed to ensuring public safety and protecting its community. In addition to dedicated contract policing by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police the Town maintains a Town of Clifton Park Security Patrol
Town Security Patrols cover town facilities – Buildings, Parks, Recreational / Sport Venues and residential neighborhoods to ensure public safety, and protect public and private property. Town Security is also responsible for:
- Conducting speed checks on town roadways to ensure general compliance with posted speed limits,
- Patrolling days, evenings and weekends at various hours to meet residential needs and concerns,
- Security/Code Enforcement Officers are responsible for the enforcement of all Town Codes and ordinances,
- Enforcing all Fire Lane and Handicapped Parking Laws,
- Providing security and law presence at all Town Board Meetings, Committee Meetings, Justice Court and general public gatherings in Town Hall and the Town Court,
- Conducting home security checks by homeowner request to deter unlawful activity while away on vacation.
Traffic Control and Crossing Duties -
- Assisting Shenendehowa School District with Crossing Guard duties on busy roadways,
- Provide crossing duties for Town Sponsored events - Day Camp sites, civic events, Sports Tournaments, Parades, and / or town emergencies,
The Town of Clifton Park Security Department consists of three Full Time Security Officers, four Part-time Security Officers, four Guards and two Armed Court Officers. All Full Time, Part-time and Court Officers are New York State Certified Officers, and all Public Safety Security Vehicles are fully radio equipped to interact with Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department or the New York State Police.
Public Safety
It is the mission of the Town of Clifton Park Safety Department to foster and support a safe work environment for all town municipal employees and residents.
The Public Safety Officer monitors workplace activities to ensure that workers comply with town policies and government safety regulations. The duties of this job vary by the Town Board, but the safety officer typically has responsibilities pertaining to safety policy development, safety inspections, safety training and compliance with Federal Occupational Safety & Health Administration/ Personnel Employee Safety Health commonly known as OSHA / PESH and the Town Codes.
